Chef Ashley
With over 20 years of professional restaurant experience, Chef Ashley has a love for food that shines through in every dish. She has worked her way up since the age of 15 in professional kitchens from bussing tables to opening and running three different restaurants. Now, she chooses to spend her time and efforts creating curated dining experiences for individuals and small groups doing private Chef work.
There are many different kinds of chefs and things that they specialize in. Chef Ashley is not going to show up at your gathering with flavored foams and tweezers with tiny greens. What she does specialize in is comforting, plentiful, quality food made with fresh ingredients. You and your guests will end the evening full and happy. While Ashley does not specialize in catering to specific dietary restrictions, many of the dishes that she specializes in are naturally gluten free or vegetarian. She has worked in high volume corporate restaurants, all the way up to exclusive country clubs and wedding venues and can bring all of that experience to your event.
Ashley has lived all over the United States and has spent time traveling Europe and South America working in kitchens all over the world and learning how to authentically represent the food of many cultures. She loves to cook ethnicly themed meals, sharing new and bold flavors. Her roots for cooking, however, will always tend toward New England where her family hails from. Seafood chowder, Italian, and American comfort food are things that will always come from her heart. While Chef Ashley is primarily a Chef and not a Baker, her pastries, deserts, and breads are highly sought after by those who know her.
Truthfully, Private Chef work is two parts cooking ability and one part personality. While you want your food to come out amazing, having a chef that can entertain and liaze with your and your guests is also a key component of choosing the right experience. Ashley does well not only in the back of the house, but also in interacting with you and your guests to provide an all around enjoyable experience.
Chef Mykol
Sioux Chef
Chef Mykol is Chef Ashley's Sioux Chef and accompanies her on most jobs. He has had a love for food and learning since he was a teenager and decided he wanted to go to school to be a Chef. He also has a personality that can translate well to interacting with guests. When doing the wine pairing dinners, Mykol serves as the sommelier.
Having grown up in Flagstaff, Arizona, Mykol adds a southwest flare to their cooking and is an avid chocololic. He is exceptionally tall and very useful in reaching the top shelves wherever they go. Chef Mykol and Chef Ashley are married and they have traveled Europe together as well as worked together in several restaurants in the states. Mykol has a wonderful sense of humor and firmly believes that you should never trust a skinny Chef.
Desserts and pastries are Mykols specialty and as a wonderful offset to Ashley’s skills, he enjoys cooking with many of the ingredients that Ashley does not enjoy like bell peppers and olives. He also handles the many, many dishes that come back dirty into the kitchen area and for that Ashley will always be grateful.
The Team
Together, Chef Mykol and Chef Ashley are a dynamic duo that can make your evening magical. They have been married for 16 years. 13 years ago, they worked together at a restaurant for the first time. Since then they decided they never wanted to work apart again. In their most recent world travel, they had the privilege to work in a volunteer kitchen teaching food safety practices in Albania. Good food prepared safely is their passion. One of their favorite things to do with clients is the Pasta Making Class as it brings joy and good food to everyone. No matter what service you choose for your special meal, Mykol and Ashley will do their very best to make you and your guests full and happy. They will even make sure that the kitchen is clean before they leave!
