This 3+ hour in‑home class teaches the food science and traditional techniques behind authentic handmade tamales. This is the type of class that teaches generational knowlege and shares an age old tradition from Spanish culture.
Each student will participate in mixing the masa, preparing one salsa, and assembling the tamales. Students will enjoy two kinds of homemade salsa and chips while their tamales cook. Students will learn how to properly cook the tamales, then the entire group will enjoy a tamale dinner with a side of Cuban black beans, Mexican Rice, and fresh toppings for the tamales.
While extra tamales cook, Chef Ashley and Chef Mykol will clean up and prepare some fresh sopapillas with honey for a sweet treat at the end of your meal.
The Chefs will teach your group how to store and heat extra tamales for later use.
Your Group can choose between Green Pork Tamales and Red Chicken Tamales.
